Powers of the Vampire
Unholy walkers of the night, it should be no surprise that Vampires, in all their myriad forms, possess abilities well beyond the grasp of mortal men. Legends speak with terror and awe of the horrible strength, inhuman speed, and unnatural resilience that the undead can display, among other stranger powers. There are Vampires who can speak in the language of the animals, control men's minds with a stare, or adopt the forms of wolves. Others can vanish from sight, walk through walls, excrete foul poisons from their skin, or hear the thoughts of others. Essentially, the preternatural abilities that vampires can display are as many in number as the stars that fill the sky, as each and every unique strain exhibits their own trademark abilities. That being said, there are a few baseline abilities which most all vampires display, which can be found below.
Enhanced Strength: While not every vampire can punch through concrete walls or juggle dumpsters over their head, any vampire can imbue themself with a burst of intense strength, allowing them to kick a door down or crack through a sternum when the need arises.
Enhanced Speed: Not every vampire is a whirling blur of inhuman alacrity, but any nocturnal predator needs to be quick in order to catch their prey, and by calling upon the power of their blood, the average Vampire can do just that, allowing for bursts of sudden deadly speed.
Enhanced Resilience: The undead nature of a vampire naturally makes their body resistant to harm, as their deadened flesh grows hard and cold after their transformation. This natural fortitude allows them to tank blows and attacks that would hospitalize a human, the average vampire can be cracked over the head with a baseball bat or ran over by a speeding corolla, and as long as they get some blood into their system, they'll be just fine soon enough.
